President Dean Schlitter opened the meeting at Luigis.

Our speaker today was Jamie Letzring, Oelwein City Administrator

 

Rotary moment:  A few brief points regarding the history of Rotary was presented.  Rotary is the first service club, it was founded in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris.  Its name was derived from the meeting locations which were rotated between the various members of its club.

Board meeting to be held March 10th immediately following the regular meeting.

 

Happy bucks were presented by Sandie who met with some Oelwein residents and a new doctor at Covenant Clinic, Matt Vogel and Steve Sanders returned from a spring baseball trip to Florida, Bob Larimer was happy his water is still running, Mike Kerns enjoyed the movie” Monuments Men” and the continued snow, Gene Fuelling is happy farm tax season is done, Steve Westerberg was happy the school received a Teacher Leadership Grant, and Jamie Letzring attended her nephews basketball game.  Lots of happy folks today!

 

OCAD will host Trivia Night on March 8th from 6-8 at Luigis.  Cost is $10 per person with teams of 6-8 people. Sign up by calling the OCAD office.

 

Joan Loew’s name was drawn for the $11.00 jackpot.
