We welcomed a number of guests today including:  Ann Sanderson, Dr. Dan Leisinger, Mayor Larry Murphy, Todd Bradley, Jennie Montieth, New Hampton Rotary, Mike Babcock, Past-president, New Hampton Rotary, Pat Epson, Asst Governor, June Heim, Sumner Rotary President.

Thank you notes were read from the Oelwein Kitchen Cupboard for our $400 donation and from the Mackens for their anniversary flowers.

Members were reminded to vote tomorrow, November 5th for the city elections.

Happy Bucks were given by Sandie Graf wanted to remind everyone to vote in the city election tomorrow and she was happy to have spent the weekend in Chicago for grandparents day at her grandchildren’s school. Curt Solsma was happy to report that the Wartburg JV volleyball team which his daughter plays on was undefeated this year.  Kent Nelson is happy his rental home is just about completed so his tenant (his daughter) can move in.  Teri Derflinger was happy to report her daughter Tia who is in PA school in North Carolina may have a walk on part in the AMC series, Walking Dead, she would be a zombie if you are looking for her!  Ashley Kuhlman returned from a long weekend visit to her sister in Florida. 

Susan Macken’s name was drawn for the $18 jackpot, she generously donated to the Paul Harris Fellow.

It was reported that Walt Saur is at the University of Iowa hospital.

Our presenters today were from the New Hampton group Docs for Hope.  Dr. Moberly spoke regarding the group’s hope to start a hospital in Canilla, Guatemala.  Area Rotary clubs are considering joining together as a Rotary project to help the organization with fundraiser for the hospital. If you wish to volunteer in anyway please email lisa@docsforhope.org.  They are currently on facebook under Docs for Hope.

Susan Macken asked for volunteers to deliver dictionaries on Wednesday, she will send an email to those that have volunteered.

December 9th        Rotary Christmas party with the OCHS choir presenting.  We will also be collecting food for the food pantry.
