Our guest today was Chelsey Wilharm, a former Oelwein High School student and Veridian employee. We also welcomed our student Rotarians, Tanner Rau and Rachel Bearinger.
Charlene Stocker’s name was drawn for the $9 jackpot today, Congrats, Charlene!
Today’s presenter was Jake Steil, Transco update.
Oelwein Health Care will be hosting Business After 5 on Sept 18th at 5:00 at the shelter.
Rotary will participate in the OCAD Fall Fling on Sept 28th. Members will have a booth for citizens to drop off their old prescription drugs. Please contact Deb Howard if you are able to help out.
There will be a joint meeting of the area Rotary clubs at noon on October 7th at West Union. Please plan to meet at the Oelwein library to car pool to the meeting. That will be our meeting for the week.
The Oelwein Rotary will be sponsoring the Barred Owl at Fontana Park for the next year.
Happy Bucks – Steve Sanders was happy that his son. Eric’s football team beat a rival they had not beaten in years, he was also happy the club tournament was done. Al Sanderson’s granddaughter was married Saturday. Kent Nelson was happy with the Hawkeyes victory. Mike Kerns happily returned from a visit to Colorado. Joan Loew was happy her son, Jake, is on leave from the Navy for a few days.
President Schlitter announced his goal for the club of 40 members by then end of June next year. We currently have 35 members. Members are encouraged to invite prospective members to visit the club.
