President Dean Schlitter opened the meeting at Luigis.

We welcomed Student Rotarians, Danielle Kanour and Mason Shannon

Guests today included:  Cara from Veridian, Sally Falb from OCAD, and Lauren Kiphart, Dean’s daughter.

Dean read a thank you note from the Oelwein Celebration Committee for the Rotary donation.

Dean’s Honda held groundbreaking this morning at 10:00 a.m.

Board meeting will be held immediately after the regular meeting.

Rotary will sponsor the Wednesday, April 16th, Business After 5 at the Oelwein Middle School.  We will honor 3 educators of the year and also have a fundraiser for the Husky dog statue that will be incorporated with the new landscape project at the high school entrance.

District Rotary Conference will be held April 24-26 in Cedar Rapids. 

The Rotary Bicycle Poker Run will be held June 19th, 6-8 p.m. Volunteers will be needed to help with this fundraiser.

Happy bucks: Tim Gearhart announced the birth of his son, Deb Howard gave two happy bucks, one for Dean’s Honda groundbreaking and one for being the guest speaker at the National Honor Society yesterday, Kent Nelson spent a great weekend taking Florian our foreign exchange student to Chicago, Steve Sanders will be grandpa again, Gene Fuelling will soon be done with tax day and will be leaving on vacation, Al Sanderson will be a great grandfather 4 more times before Christmas, Dean Schlitter was happy with the groundbreaking.

Tim Gearhart’s name was drawn for the $9.50 jackpot, he was not present so there will be a carryover.

Meetings will be held at Luigis through June 2014.
