We welcomed student Rotarians, Tyler Vogel , Molly Schmitz. Our student Rotarian, Fernando, was also in attendance today.

 

Brett Ingersol’s name was drawn for the $9.00 jackpot this week, Congrats, Brett.

 

Happy bucks:  Gene Fuelling was happy it was April 15th and he will be leaving for vacation.  Steve Westerberg was impressed with the OHS Alumni concert Saturday night.  Mike Kerns was happy he wasn’t arrested over the weekend. Molly Schmitz received a 2nd and Trevor Rau received 3rd at a vocal contest. Matt Vogel was happy with the success of the spring baseball league.  Steve Westerberg was happy the high school would play their first tennis meet today – update – it didn’t happen as it rained and was too cold.

 

Our speaker today was Toni Angle, Success Center at RAMS.

 

April 17th Rotary will host the Business After 5 at the Oelwein High School.  We will present 3 teacher of the year awards as selected by our Student Rotarians.

 

Fernando Gimenez, our Rotary foreign exchange student, will have his graduation party on May 11th from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at Luigis.  His family will also be in attendance.  Donations of salads, cake and chips were requested.  Let Joan Loew know if you are willing to help, a sign up sheet will be passed around next week.

 

OCAD and Community Bank will host a bus tour of the local Amish on May 3rd from 9-4, cost is $38.  Contact either to sign up.

 

Curt Solsma passed around a sign up sheet to volunteer to clean up Chrysler Park on May 6th at 5:00 p.m.
