Paul Schmitz name was drawn for the $10.50 jackpot today for his first time as a new member, he generously donated it back to the exchange student fund.
July 9th, Dean Schlitter attended the District Club meeting for the installation of the new District Governor. Oelwein Rotary received a matching grant of $2,000 which was pledged to the Little Husky Preschool playground. A date will be set for volunteers to help assembly the equipment.
The Rotary slogan for next year – “Engaged Rotarians change lives” On September 9th the new District Governor will present at our meeting. Please put on your calendars so we have a good representation for him. Also for your calendars:

Happy bucks: Kent Nelson attended the Sr. Open at Omaha and visited his daughter, Tara and husband Brandon who is a member of the Bellevue NE Rotary club, their membership includes just two people under 60, Kent also reported his daughter, Adrian, is employed as an athletic trainer for a high school in Ohio; Steve Westerberg returned from a vacation; Gene Fuelling returned from a vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC; Matt Vogel was happy to see Bob Henderson honored as the #1 baseball coach, Bob has attended over 1000 home games; Neil Wilkinson is the proud father of new baby boy, Kael, and he recently moved his office; Joan Loew was happy that Rotary sponsored Fernando and will continue the foreign exchange student program.

Wednesday, July 17th will be the Business after 5 co-sponsored by Create and Fareway. It will be located north of Create.
Mark your calendars for the Rotary Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 17th. Team cost will be $100, carts extra – more details to come. Sponsorships will also be needed.
