Guests today were Ludo (foreign exchange student hosted by the Solsma’s 19 years ago) and Deb Wiegel, Oelwein Publishing. We also welcomed back Walt Saur who has been unable to attend for a long time.

Dean Schlitter’s was drawn for the $10.50 jackpot today, he generously donated it back to the club.

There will be a joint meeting of the area Rotary clubs on October 7th at West Union.

Thursday night the old and new foreign exchange families will meet to offer advice for hosting our new student from Belgium.

Saturday, 9 am-12p.m., August 3rd will the 3rd annual Husky Pride Day, if you are able to help the school get ready for the new year contact the Central Office at 283-3536 and volunteer, you will be called back with a specific job duty.

Happy bucks:  Steve Sanders was happy to report his son, Brian, is a champion ankle wrapper for the Minnesota Vikings, but still not a fan yet; Deb Howard survived babysitting her 10 week old grandson for 3 days; Walt Saur was happy to report he can no longer drive but can still fly a F15! Gene Fuelling watched his grandson’s basketball camp at Wartburg, he was also happy to see the promotion of the Williams Center on the slide show today. Deb Wiegel’s daughter will be getting married this Saturday. Curt Solsma was happy to have Ludo and his family in town. Mike Kerns returned from a trip to Texas to visit his sister. Bob Larimer was happy to see both Walt and Ludo at our meeting today.

Jake Blitsch and Connie Kerns demonstrated the stained glass barn quilts they are making for the Fayette Co. Tourism fundraiser.

Mark your calendars for the Rotary Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 17th.  Team cost will be $100, carts extra – more details to come.  Teams and sponsorships are needed. If you have a team, please get your name to Steve Sanders or Brett Ingersoll.
