·         President Dean Schlitter opened the meeting at Luigi’s.

·         Student Rotarian’s were in attendance – Heidi Kalb & Wade Michels

·         Birthday’s: April 6th – Susan Macken. Spouse birthdays – Dave Derflinger on Apr. 2nd

·         Member Anniversaries – April 1st – Kathy Larson, 19 years; Lyle Miller, 27 years; Maureen Nolan, 23 years.

·         Announcements:

*Rotary Business After Five will be Wednesday, April 16th at the Middle School. Educator  

of the Year presentations will be made.

*Bike Trail Poker Run – Date changed to Thursday, June 19th. Workers and riders will be needed.

*Rotary District Conference in Cedar Rapids is on April 25-26. $1,000 prize will be given to club with largest percentage of attendance.

*RAGBRAI Town meeting will be held tonight at 6pm at the Plaza. Dean will attend on behalf of Rotary.

·         Happy Bucks: Steve Sanders – Played Golf on Sunday and got to babysit grandson this weekend.

          Sarah Lewis – Restaurant opened at Edgewater – she gets to eat and NOT work!!

          Todd Bradley – Olivia is starting new job at UIU!

          Bob Larimer – Just returned from a 4 day bus trip to Nebraska.

·         Drawing – Clint Berryman won the $10 Jackpot. Donated all back to the club.

·         Speaker today was Jon King. Jon told of updates and info on the Rotary Foundation and the Paul Harris Fellowship. 17 of 41 Oelwein members are Paul Harris Fellows. A drawing was held for $50 each to put toward individual fellowships. The winners were Kent Nelson, Maureen Nolan, Susan Macken, Bob Larimer and Brett Ingersoll. Bob donated his $50 to the newest member, Todd Bradley, if Todd would match. Todd accepted. The club is also matching the funds up to $100 for each of the winners if they paid the $50 to add to the winnings for their $100 contribution. The matching funds were also offered to all members present if they made their contribution for the year.
