Madam President Sarah Lewis called the meeting to order at Valone’s Family Restaurant
Visitors – None
Student Rotarians – Megan Rex and Ethan gave updates on happenings at the school for this week.
Announcements:
- May 18th is Rotary Interact Trivia, Rotary needs to bring a team and volunteers
- The City Council is hosting a goal session May 1 at the Library 6:00 to 9:00 limited to 50 participants.
- Lisa discussed the need for volunteers at the St. Croix Hospice
- Arlington Place will have a speaker on dementia from UNI
- June 21 will be Arlington Place's fundraiser for Alzheimer's with a sub shop $6.00 for lunch
- Digging will start in May at Arlington Place
- Nursing home week will be celebrated with Scratch Cupcakes May 15 at Grandview
- May 10 will be the last show of the season for the Williams Center
- May 7 – No noon meeting. Social at Generations at 5pm
- Canoe Races will be held at City Park Lake on Saturday, June 2nd during the Oelwein Celebration. Anyone interested in having a team can contact Mike Kerns. Teams are $60/6 team members
- Daddy Daughter Dance is May 5
- Members are encouraged to consider a spot of the Rotary Board
- Shoe Drive is going well but more shoes are needed
