Rotary Club Minutes January 12, 2015

President Joan Loew called the meeting to order.

Gus Barker who is the Executive Vice-President at Community Bank was a guest of Sarah Lewis.

We welcomed our Student Rotarians for the month, Jonah Woodward and Amy Wendell.

The Rotary Board will meet following the club meeting.

Birthdays for the week are Sarah Ingersoll, Darci Fuelling, and Nancy Miller.

Member Anniversaries are Laura Sires on the 16th and Steve Sanders on the 17th.

Happy Bucks were given by Joan Loew for her daughter's safe journey throughout Europe, Steve Westerberg for the Packers and UNI wins, and Kent Nelson for the interesting dinner conversation with a group of UNI grads.

The drawing had a carry-over of $7.00 added to today's contributions of $8.00 for a total of $15.00. Steve Sanders name was drawn, but he was not present. The money will be carried over to the next meeting.

Jon King was fined for his telephone ring, Packers fans for a poor referee call, and members who have not attended an Oelwein Basketball game or Wrestling meet.

Kent Nelson introduced our guest speaker, John Sorensen. John, who is the president of the Iowa Banker's Association, spoke about the association.

The next club meeting will be at Luigi's on January 19.
