Rotary Minutes
11/07/16
Todd Bradley called the meeting to order at Valone’s Family Restaurant
Visitors – Ralph Smith, next year’s District Governor
Student Rotarians – Makayla McGhee & Morgan Woodson
Announcements:
- Oelwein Rotary Foundation fundraiser booklets are due back for the drawing that will be held on Nov. 28th.
- Lions Hoots for Halloween was a success with approx. 400 kids attending.
- Olde Tyme Christmas will be held on Friday, December 2nd from 4-8 pm. The Craft/Marketplace will be from 2-8pm.
- Rotary Board voted to give $500/yr. over a three year period for the Community Health Initiative – Haiti “Water For Life” program.
- Looking for pictures of Rotary members doing community service projects for a newspaper article in ODR.
- Rotary Club Christmas Party to be held at the December 5th meeting and will be at the Oelwein Community Plaza. High School Choir will perform for us. Valone’s will cater the meal. Spouses are invited to attend.
- Husky Basketball Madness – 7pm at High School Gym. Admission will be one non-perishable food item.

Drawing – $9.00 pot & $9.00 carryover, won by Charlene Stocker.
Program was a visit to the Husky Construction house site.
